Ambition Studios is a Toronto-based, producer-led film and commercial studio led by founder, producer, and creative director Nason Markwell.

Our producer-led model

The studio builds production teams around the needs of each project, combining producer oversight with a project-specific network of directors, cinematographers, editors, sound professionals, and other specialists. The people involved vary by brief, format, schedule, and production requirements. For commercial work the studio produces brand films, campaigns, and short-form content. For original work it develops a focused slate of film and television projects. Nason Markwell, Founder and Executive Producer

Founder and executive producer of Ambition Studios, in the role since July 2019.
Produces commercial and narrative projects, working with brands, agencies, and talent from concept through execution.
Background in wedding, event, and studio photography in the greater Toronto area.
Studied Film Production at Toronto Film School from 2018 to 2021, with a focus on cinematography and film and video production.
Listed production work includes Director of Photography, gaffer, and editor. Public credits identify work across producing, cinematography, camera, and electrical departments.
Screen credits: *Alterations* (2025, a Canadian feature film); *It Doesn’t Show* (a web series/limited series commissioned by APTN, credited as producer); *Fivehead* (2026, a Canadian short film that screened at TIFF).

What to ask when choosing a production lead

When you contact the studio, include the format, intended audience, desired visual approach, production location, target release date, and the support you already have. You can also ask which producer will oversee the brief, who will handle cinematography or post-production, and whether the proposed team is available for your schedule.
